Welcome to the millennium, the kingdom of the Church on earth, people from all nations whom He has “made a kingdom of priests of our God, and they will rule as kings over the earth.”
After Jesus’ ascension, with the assist of the Holy Spirit and the persecution of Christians at the hands of Jerusalem-based Jewry, God scattered His witnesses of the Gospel and ambassadors of His millennial kingdom to the nations. His most notable draftee and soldier of the cross was a former persecutor by the name of Saul, later known as Paul. Paul met the gods of the nations and deceptions of Satan head on, fearlessly proclaiming Christ among the temples of the Athenian Areopagus: “Paul stood before the court of Mars’ Hill and said,
‘Men of Athens, I see how very religious you are in every way. As I went went through your city and saw the things you worship, I found an altar with the inscription TO AN UNKNOWN GOD. Now I’m telling you about what you don’t know and yet worship. The God Who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and doesn’t live in temples made by human hands, and He isn’t served by human hands as if He needed anything. He Himself gives everyone life and breath and everything. From one man He made every nation to have the people live all over the earth, setting the times allotted to them and the boundaries they live in, that they should look for God and perhaps feel their way to Him and find Him. He is never far from any one of us, because in Him we live and move and have are being; as some of your poets have said, ‘You see, we are His children.’ Now, if we’re God’s children, we shouldn’t think God is like gold, silver or stone, carved by man’s art and imagination.
‘While God overlooked the times when people were ignorant, He now tells all of them everywhere to repent, because He has set a day when He is going to judge the world with justice by the Man He has appointed for this. And by raising Him from the dead He has given everyone a good reason to believe.'”
Acts 17: 22-31
Satan’s Iron Grip is Broken
So the millennium is described in Revelation 20:1-3 as the time when Satan is bound–chained–and his iron grip on the nations is broken, “so that he might not deceive the nations any longer until the thousand years were ended.” (Revelation 20:1-3)
So welcome to the millennium, the kingdom of the Church on earth, people from all nations whom He has “made a kingdom of priests of our God, and they will rule as kings over the earth” (Rev. 5:10) under the reigning King of kings and Lord of lords, our Lord Jesus Christ. (Rev. 19:16) This truth we accept on the basis of the Good News, not the fake news or what appears to be, “for we walk by faith, not by sight.” (2 Corinthians 5:7)
