History is His Story

History is His Story

History is His Story. Even the calendars throughout the world attest to that — all dates are in reference to the coming of Christ. The arrival of the Creator becoming part of the creation in order to save all in it from total destruction is the only historical event that matters. Without that nothing matters. All else is footnotes.

Everything Else is a Footnote

Israel was a tiny nation, but of worldwide significance because it was the nation through which God worked to bring us the Messiah. Alexander the Great was great only because he spread the Greek culture and language by which the world could read and understand the New Testament, which is all about Christ. Caesar Augustus ruled a vast empire, but the only thing of lasting importance about him is that God used him to get the holy family to Bethlehem to fulfill Messianic prophecy. Pontius Pilate had a high position and political career, but the only thing worth remembering was his role in Christ’s crucifixion, which atoned for the sins of the world. History is His Story. All others play bit parts. All else is footnotes.

Your Contribution For Christ

It matters little who wins the World Cup or the World Series. What matters is who’s on Jesus’ team, and how is one used to spread Christ’s rule and reign. Is your name in the Lamb’s Book of Life? Compared to that, the Hall of Fame is nothing. That’s all that matters in the end — not your success or fame or happiness or reputation in this world. Only one life, twill soon be past, only what’s done for Christ will last. How does that fact affect how you live the rest of your life?

All Nations are as Nothing

“Behold, the nations are like a drop from a bucket, and are accounted as the dust on the scales. . . All nations are as nothing before Him, they are accounted by Him as less than nothing and emptiness.” (Isaiah 40:15-17)

How to Recognize an Impostor

How can you recognize a religious leader who is an impostor, an agent of satanic deception, a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Jesus and his apostles warned there would be many. I myself have seen and heard many of them.

Our Savior Lutheran Church is true to its name, focused on Jesus Christ and to historic Lutheran commitments to Christ alone, the Bible alone, Grace alone and Faith alone. Its concern for Christian education not only involves a Sunday school, Confirmation, Youth Ministry, and Bible Classes, but also led to its founding of Our Savior New American School.

This church belongs to our Savior, who paid for it with His blood, and who has commanded us, His people to: “Go, therefore, and make disciples of all people, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded.”
