None who speak contrary to God’s Word and Spirit speak with any authority at all in Christ’s true Church, be he called pastor, priest, professor or pope. The current pope, who goes by the name of Francis, has repeatedly demonstrated no infallibility and plenty of apostasy. Among his most egregious pronouncements, he has said: “Who am I to judge whether homosexual behavior is wrong.”
Pope Francis, please know that God has already judged that:
Do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
1 Corinthians 6:8-11
Outrage of Faithful Catholics
Francis has blessed homosexual unions (without calling it “marriage”) much to the outrage of faithful Catholics worldwide. He believes God wills diversity, equity and inclusion of all religions, brought an Amazonian idol into the Vatican and blessed it, and says even atheists can be saved (on good behavior). He has cut a deal with the Communist Party, initiating Communist takeover of the Chinese Catholic Church and government persecution of those Catholics who resist. And he calls Joe Biden, a promoter of mass murder of preborn humans and champion of every sexual perversion in the LGBTQ alphabet soup, a “good Catholic”.
If You Continue in My Word
Such a person is no infallible spokesman or pontiff, nor even a disciple of Christ. Jesus said, “If you continue in My Word, then are you My disciples indeed.” (John 8:31) “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.” (John 10:27) “Whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.” (John 3:36) “Many false prophets have gone out into the world.” (1 John 4:1) “If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away like a branch and dries up. Such branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned.” (John 15:6)
Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.
