Some ministers and ministries are so concerned about gaining/keeping clients/congregants, etc., that they studiously avoid any topic labeled political or controversial. That would include anything the Bible/God has clearly declared false or evil. The excuse is “love” at the expense of truth.
Truth is Canceled
How can we be silent when innocent babies are mass-murdered (abortion), children are deceived and mutilated (LGBTQI+), people are punished/rewarded based on nothing but the tint of the outer layer of their skin (CRT, BLM), lies and slanders abound and lives are ruined without consequence (everyday in the news), when God’s Word, the Creator/Redeemer, and even the concept of truth are canceled.
The Truth May Not Be Popular
Jesus did not avoid offending people for the sake of being non-political and popular. He didn’t drive money changers and their property out of the Temple (twice) to make friends. In fact, he was crucified for offending the politically positioned, privileged and powerful. Paul and Peter were frequently imprisoned. All the apostles were martyred except John, who spent his last years in exile and isolation. That didn’t happen by accident or by avoiding offense.

Paul reprimanded his Galatian church: “If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed. For am I now seeking the approval of men or of God?” (Galatians 1:9-10) He ordered his trainee Timothy to “Reprove, rebuke, and exhort.” (2 Timothy 4:2)
In good conscience he could tell the Ephesians, “I am innocent of the blood of you all, for I did not shrink from declaring to you the whole counsel of God.”
Acts 20:27
Paul’s words are a powerful example of how to proclaim the Law and the Gospel, without omitting the political or controversial.
At The Expense of the Truth
In conclusion, all those people you hope to gain or keep by canceling, twisting or denying the truth, you do it at the expense of their and your own souls, and confirm them and yourself in delusion.
