God’s Word proclaims: “We must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done, whether good or bad.” (2 Corinthians 5:10) “All” is everyone. And “Christ” is not the Supreme Court or popular opinion or any other religious leader. About a half century ago a Christian singing group called The Imperials sang this chorus: “It won’t be old Buddha who’s sittin’ on the throne, and it won’t be old Mohammed who’s calling us home, and it won’t be Hare Krishna who plays that trumpet tune; it’s going to be the Son, not Reverend Moon.”
The Old Testament asserts: “Many who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.” (Daniel 12:2)
Jesus testifies: “He (God the Father) has given him (Son of God and Son of Man, i.e. Jesus Christ) authority to execute judgment . . . all who are in the tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment.” (John 5:25-29)
Believe in Him
“Goodness” begins and is never without repenting of your sins and trusting in Jesus Christ as your sin-atoning Savior. “Whatever does not proceed from faith is sin.” (Romans 14:23) “This is the work of God: that you believe in him whom He has sent.” (John 6:29)
“Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved.” (Acts 16:31) “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Romans 10:13) “Whoever believes in him will not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
All May Honor the Son
Jesus declared: “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6) And also: “The Father judges no one, but has given all judgment to the Son, that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him. Truly, truly I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.” (John 5:22-24)
